In honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation we are hosting a special yoga practice and fundraiser. 10:00-11:00am at North Arm Farm, Lil’wat Territory.
Outdoor yoga practice will be led by Vision Ley, St'at'imc yoga teacher and supported by Rebekka Walker and Raelene Hodgson. This is an all levels practice and everyone of all ages and abilities is welcome. Please bring your own yoga mat and be prepared for all weather.
Vision recently completed her 200hr Yoga Teacher training at Village Yoga and has since launched her project, Smawal Yoga; Smawal means Life Spirit in St'at'imc. Vision is working to bring accessible yoga to her community of Tsalalh and surrounding Indigenous communities.
This event is free / by-donation. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Smawal Yoga project. It is expected that settlers bring a donation.
For Lil’wat members, we will also be offering a free gentle yoga practice and Village Yoga gift cards as part of the on the afternoon events on September 30th in room 110 at Ts̓zil Learning Centre.
At Village Yoga we recognize reconciliation as an ongoing journey beyond a one day holiday. As such, all other classes will be cancelled on September 30th. We will continue to offer our regular karma classes by-donation with all proceeds going to Indigenous teacher scholarships and local Indigenous organizations.
