Join Village Yoga and local teacher David Cross for a full three hour long practice.
"Shri" is a Sanskrit word meaning auspicious, resplendent, radiant, prosperous... In some contexts, it is used to refer to the Goddess of prosperity herself, Lakshmi. While this word oftens refers to all the things we want by way of material abundance, a deeper view held by many Indian traditions is that all reality is itself auspicious.... The good, and the not-so-good. All things, auspicious. How can we hold this idea in a way that doesn't diminish the reality of the hardship that, sooner or later, finds its way to our doorstep? How might this perspective enrich, rather than bypass?
We will begin class together by contemplating this idea... and then move on to doing all the things we wish class would include but is never long enough for: a long warm-up, alignment geek-outs, explorations of advanced asana, and a long closing sequence complete with meditation and a yoga nidra practice.
Seasonal-appropriate drinks will be provided, weather-depending ;)
